Netduino Weather Station
The purpose of the project is to build a fully standalone weather station that can display current and forecast weather information. More detail, it can shows current weather temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, current weather barometric pressure, weather condition text and icon, today low and high temperatures, moon phase for today, sunrise and sunset times for today, forecast weather for next 3 days including: high and low temperatures, weather condition text and icon, humidity and wind direction and speed. All data are pulled from Weather Underground.
Zakie Mashiah, project designer, explained that the project is fully automatically identifies location in the globe and determines daylight saving and local time. No configuration required. The heart of project is Netduino, an open source electronics platform like arduino with Atmel 32-bit microcontroller, AT91SAM7X512, and uses C# programming language. The weather station also Supports DHCP for network connection and can be connected to VGA screens and small 3.2″ screens.
