06/05/2012 Category: Arduino, Microcontroller, Project, Remote

This mini remote control for DSLR camera is built based on Arduino Microcontroller. Its hardware consists of Arduino Mini Pro, 1.8″ LCD from Adafruit, Rotary encoder with switch, CNY74-4 Opto-isolator chip, 3.5mm Female Stereo Jack. The device uses 1000mAh LiPo rechargeable battery as power source.

The camera remote control features three major modes: Astro – fit for astro-photography, chains exposure with the same duration, Unique – one shot only, and Increment – The next exposure is computed using the current one and a fixed value. On the test screen, user can test focus and snapshot separately.

Knackes, project designer, said that he has tested the remote (previous version) by took 6 hour continuous shooting with a smaller battery and power to spare.
